Libros Schmibros reads at Extera’s Read Across America Week

Today, Libros Schmibros visited the 2nd Street location of Extera Public Schools, a tuition-free charter school in Boyle Heights, in celebration of Read Across America Week!

Invited as a guest reader for “Our Community Reads to Extera Day,” staff member Tiffany K. L. read a book in English and Spanish called Count Me In: A Parade of Mexican Folk Art Numbers in English and Spanish by Cynthia Weill (author) and by the Aguilar Sisters (illustrators). Tiffany also read Pete and the Cat and the Lost Tooth by James Dean after student requests to read another story.

We can’t wait to continue partnering with Extera teachers and parents for future collaborations, field trips, and events.

Also, it was “Crazy Hat Day” at Extera and Libros Schmibros could not compete with what the Extera students wore. Check out our Instagram Stories to see the students’ crazy hats.
